It is possibly old-fashioned to write a letter to a national newspaper, but as the NHS given a funding promise (much needed and arguably insufficient by the way) I felt motivated to add my voice to the relative inadequacy of treatment experienced by Adult Social Care. It is not for me about any corporatist desire to see local government funded well. It is about seeing what an mess we are making as a society of supporting people with disability or frailty and knowing it could be me, you or any of our loved ones trying to get help. Money is needed but I honestly believe it is more a question of leadership and courage that holds us back.
