About Me

As regional lead partner for our public sector team in the South West, I lead a team of more than 75 public sector specialists, working with local government, health, police, fire and central government clients throughout the region. I lead assurance and advisory assignments that promote strong governance, financial management and financial reporting, as well as advising clients on arrangements for ensuring value for money.

I also chair the firm’s Public Sector Assurance Board, which oversees our development of new service lines to the public sector and I enjoy the innovative and creative aspects of this role.

I strongly support the investment in new finance professionals and am lead partner for our relationship with CIPFA in supporting the Institute’s national programme of recruitment and professional training. As part of this role, I led CIPFA’s pilot apprenticeship scheme to Grant Thornton, which has provided an alternative and innovative route to a career in accountancy at the firm and helped to develop a unique public/private accountancy qualification with CIPFA and ICAS.Expertise covers:

  • Advisory
  • Audit and assurance
  • Government and public sector
