Partner and Head of Public Sector Assurance - London and South East at Grant Thornton UK

London, United Kingdom

About Me

With more than 28 years working in public sector, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my role as head of our local government sector team. I am a true champion of the sector, working with a broad range of clients including: London Boroughs of Haringey and Enfield and Luton Borough Council. I am a huge supporter of the localised devolution agenda to help to improve the lives of all our citizens. As well as my day-to-day role, I also chair our local government board and separately oversee 100 people as the head of public sector assurance in London and the south-east.

I am extremely proud to have shaped and developed our sector offering over the years, continuing to understand the issues and challenges the sector faces and supporting our clients to overcome these. Our public sector focus and drive to deliver excellent client service has positioned us as an influential provider of thought leadership in local government and the market leader in audit services, with a leading market share of 40%. I endeavour to show Grant Thornton's support through sponsoring events, such as SOLACE, local government awards and the CIPFA drinks reception.

Outside of work my weekends are usually filled with the great game that is football. I enjoy watching my team West Ham attempt to storm up the premier league table, as well as watching my son improve his football skills on a slightly less impressive pitch.

Expertise covers:

  • Audit and assurance
  • Autumn Statement 2016
  • Budget
  • Government and public sector
